Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Award

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.
The event will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
