The British government is ready to advance with employing the full worth of frozen Russian assets to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They further noted that the initiative would be executed in strong partnership with the America.

UK sanctions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, until now, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had exclusively been taken from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their desire to push forward toward utilizing the full value of the seized Moscow's national holdings to end the war.

He added that more sanctions over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to European Union officials gathered in the Danish capital previously to consider using frozen Russian assets for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, US President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to take or employ seized Russia's holdings, as reported by reports.

The value of immobilized Russia's assets in the Europe is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Russia executed large-scale aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on that day, leading to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the city, and eight other regions.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack focused on non-military and power facilities.

While applauding the UK's consistent assistance for Kyiv, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the system, as well as enforce additional sanctions on Russia.
