The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Showdown With Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team advanced to their initial championship series since 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the ALCS.

Behind three runs to one, Springer delivered a three-run blast in the seventh frame, leading the Toronto squad in the majors to a four games to three win in the best-of-seven series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the defending champions, in the upcoming World Series.

"I'm thrilled for our team, Toronto, our country," said Springer, a key player of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "What an unbelievable moment."

George Springer has now connected for twenty-three October home runs, placing him third in history after Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"I can't think of another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that moment besides Springer with his October magic," noted Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

The Mariners, after leading the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it hurts" following his team's loss at their home ballpark, but commended their efforts throughout the year.

"This is a unique group. Sadly that we had to come out on the wrong side of the series," he added.

Toronto's team claimed the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in game one on Friday.
