Performer Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Lending His Voice To Disputed Covid Feature

The acclaimed actor has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccines and commends ex- health official RFK Jr.

The Feature's Disputed Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a well-known publication written by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that Covid was linked to a problematic version of the influenza shot.

The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with controversial figure a known commentator. He recently posted celebrating Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Neeson have provided a response strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-vax sentiments.

"We all acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be equated to opposition to vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam never has been, and remains not, against vaccines. His considerable work with Unicef underscores his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the performer had no hand in the project's narrative and that questions about its claims are best addressed to the producers.

Central Themes Featured in the Feature

In the film, the script provided by Neeson features several strong claims:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
  • It argues that "medical science has become highly politicized."
  • Kennedy is featured saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • The narration also criticizes Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Past Controversy and Current Debates

It further cites a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the subject of a BBC apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy called on the Centers for Disease Control to alter its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a fresh analysis from the global health body confirming no evidence has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Contrasting the documentary's tone, Neeson has previously shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's voice stating, "This is not the conclusion of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a different phase."
