Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on the start of the week.

McKenna's Stance on The Scottish Club

McKenna described the Glasgow giants as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Portman Road in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the Championship and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those conversations," the English capital native ex- Northern Ireland youth international said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my concentration is currently.

"I possess a unique position here at a special club. And we're at a crucial phase of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't touched my radar."

Background and Contractual Details

Reports indicate that McKenna would be willing to talk to Celtic given his boyhood allegiances.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about these. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and declare what they were, but of course it's a really big sports organization."

McKenna signed a fresh four-year contract in last year and was asked about his alleged £5m release clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I approach this role like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the situation, but I'll always do my best as long as I remain in position."

Bellamy's Situation

The former striker represented the Hoops on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in 2005, but the former Welsh forward is minded to complete the ongoing global tournament campaign, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Celtic job.

Wales are currently third in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up Macedonia.

Victories over the minnows and North Macedonia in next month would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of making those, thanks to a productive European competition performance, even if they not end up their group second place.

Considering his current stance, the Wales manager, whose contract expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until after the play-offs at the earliest.
