Los Blancos' Alexander-Arnold Might Return to Face His Former Club in Forthcoming European Match

The English defender training

The Spanish giants signed Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term agreement

The defender's recovery is moving forward smoothly, raising possibility that the Madrid defender may recover soon enough to play against his former club Liverpool in November's European tie.

The 27-year-old player sustained a muscle injury while playing against French side Marseille in the initial phase of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold exited the pitch in the early stages, with early reports pointing to a possible layoff of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European match—exactly over a month since the incident happened.

Sources familiar with the player's condition suggest that the defender's comeback is progressing favorably, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold could achieve his initial comeback to Anfield since signing for Los Blancos in June.

A devoted Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously said that leaving the club he entered as a six-year-old academy player was the "most difficult choice he's ever made."

During his time with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 games, helping secure two English top-flight championships, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

After moving to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played five times across all competitions, logging 156 minutes of action.
