Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah said sorry to the group of players following the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have remained strong in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
