Former Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
