Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
