It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to predict.

"An opportunity to play and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

By the time she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.
