Administration Decries 'Democrat Hoax' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Photos Released
House Democrats have released a fresh batch of what they described as "alarming" pictures from the estate of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—some of which have been previously circulated—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the nearly 100,000 images released to the House oversight committee, which is examining the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The disgraced financier died by apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking offenses.
Prominent Personalities in the Photos
Included in the prominent personalities seen in the initial batch are public figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Reaction
The White House addressed the release in a official comment, charging Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the images for electoral motives and to "attempt to fabricate a false storyline."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson remarked, maintaining that "the Trump administration has accomplished more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by frequently urging transparency, making public thousands of pages of papers, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Congressional Democrat Comment
The photographs were disclosed devoid of explanation, but as stated by a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's connections to wealthy individuals.
"Now is the occasion to end this White House concealment and secure justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he stated in a statement.
The publication of these images coincides with the House panel continuing its probe into the affair.
