A Pig's Tale: Hog Named 6-7 Spared by Miami Dade County Leader.

Although not quite at the same level as granting clemency to holiday birds, but the mayor of Miami-Dade experienced a Donald Trump moment this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the core of Miami’s iconic Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. Clemency is justified for her. She has committed zero crimes,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with inescapable allusions to the sheer volume of pardons issued from the start of the onset of a current administration.

“If we disregard eating six or seven apples per day,” the mayor added. “May this pig enjoy a prosperous future away from worry.”

The gathering, simultaneously observing and challenging the region’s Hispanic tradition of eating roast pork during the holidays, was founded to emulate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The pig, contributed by a first responder, was given its name from the current slang trend of young people yelling “6-7” – inspired by a musical verse – often without clear purpose. The craze became so pervasive that a prominent word reference recently named “six-seven” its top term for the year.

A New Life

The pardoned swine is now scheduled to spend its days at a rural sanctuary “away from grills and cookware”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“The pig pardon has become a cherished method to begin the end-of-year celebrations,” said the cafe owner, in a particularly upbeat message.

“It captures the spirit of Miami: vibrant, varied, and grounded in customs that unite the community. Annually, we are delighted to mark heritage and mercy in a way unique to Miami.”

Participants enjoyed a vegetarian menu of spinach fritters and strong coffee as they marked the swine's new lease on life.
